Sound Listening for Metaverse AR Glasses: Clearer Voice, Less Consumption and More Functions

AR glasses is one of the most important parts of Metaverse. Due to the size and weight of the AR glasses, the human-machine interaction could be very limited. Keyboard, touch screen etc. may not be able to used for AR glasses, and thus voice becomes a natural and convenient way of interaction. The AR glasses poses at least three demands for the MEMS sound sensors: 1. Clear voice recording. Clear voice can help to increase the accuracy of voice communication, as well as the user experiment; 2. Less power consumption. Since the AR glass is always listening the user’s speaking, the power consumption is critical; and 3. More functions. If the sensor can integrate more functions, it will not only save the power and cost, but also leave more room for the battery. Based on the AlN thin film, we developed a piezoelectric MEMS microphone, which is aimed to address above mentioned issues.
