  • 简介

Dr Andrea De Luca is CEO at Flusso and co-founder. He built the Company from ground to a team of ~30 people, led the company through two rounds for a total of over £5.5M in equity funding and brought Flusso first product into customer hands. Graduated from the University of Naples Federico II (Italy) with a 1st class degree in Electronic Engineering in 2011, in 2015 he obtained his PhD on smart sensors for harsh environments from the University of Cambridge (UK) where he continued as a research associate and leader of the sensors area within the HVMS group. In 2016 he was awarded a prestigious three year Research Fellowship at Emmanuel College (Cambridge, UK), during which he co-founded Flusso. He won three IEEE best paper awards and was part of the FP7 SOI-HITS team awarded with the Innovation award in 2015 by the European Commission. Inventor on 15+ patents (mostly granted) and (co-)author of 70+ publications in the sensors field. In 2020 he was awarded the Young Engineer of the Year Award by the Royal Academy of Engineering.

Flusso – growing a start-up during a pandemic and a chip shortage

I will be giving an introduction about Flusso (www.flussoltd.com), covering how the company came to life and commenting on both technical and commercial challenges of growing a start-up during a pandemic and a semiconductor shortage. I will be describing the technology platform behind the FLS110 flow sensor as well as touching on system integration challenges pandemic and a semiconductor shortage. I will be describing the technology platform behind the FLS110 flow sensor as well as touching on system integration challenges and the benefit offered by our flow sensing solutions in a couple of relevant use cases. I will also be offering a brief overview of our current R&D activities.

Flusso

Flusso (www.flussoltd.com) is a fabless semiconductor company developing flow and gas sensing solutions for use in low-cost, high-volume applications.

Flusso’s new FLS110 flow sensor, with a footprint of just 3.5 x 3.5 mm, is small enough to fit into virtually any product and can be positioned where measurements matter the most. The FLS110 is part of a complete digital flow sensing solution seamlessly integrating hardware and software with mechanical and fluidic components. Our modular approach allows our customers to strike the ideal balance between system cost and performance.

Originally spun out from Cambridge university, Flusso is Cambridge based with representatives in Hong Kong and US. Formed by a team of ~30 people, recently ISO9001 certified, and equity funded for about £5.5m, Flusso is now in a pre-sales phase. And while bringing the FLS110 to market, Flusso is also developing other flow and gas sensing technologies.
