Dr. Stephan Marauska
Dr. Stephan Marauska joined OQmented in 2019 as Chief Operation Officer. OQmented develops, produces and sells customized MEMS mirror-based laser scanning solutions, e.g., for lightweight AR smart glasses or 3D cameras. Dr. Stephan Marauska is responsible for the industrialization and MEMS development.
He has more than 20 years of experience in the semiconductor and MEMS industries and worked at Fraunhofer ISIT, Vishay Siliconix, Bosch Sensortec and NXP Semiconductors in various positions. His work was dedicated to transferring the next generation automotive and consumer products from development phase to volume production.
Dr. Stephan Marauska received his master’s degree in physics from the University of Hamburg and a Ph.D. in engineering from the University of Kiel, Germany. He is the author of 11 scientific publications and inventor of 10 patents.
MEMS Mirror-Based 3D Depth Camera Technology
The applications of 3D camera technology are manifold, both in consumer and commercial sectors. The future market for 3D cameras is predicted to reach a global market size of $13.4 billion by 2026.[1] For successful mass market penetration, solutions need be cost-effective, small in size, light-weight, with low power consumption, high resolution and a large field-of-view.
OQmented offers an ultra-compact, cost-effective and performant 3D depth-sensing camera to upgrade stationary as well as mobile cameras with ToF or RGB-D technology. Its patented structured light projector, based on OQmented’s proprietary biaxial wafer-level encapsulated MEMS mirror, projects a dynamically changing infrared Lissajous pattern in high-resolution scans over a wide field of view. With frame rates in the kilohertz range, it is a key differentiator to conventional low resolution infrared dot projectors.
