Jeffrey Krotosky is the CTO and Director of New Production Introduction for the MEMS foundry operation of TDK-Tronics.

Jeffrey leads the teams responsible for new product introduction and MEMS engineering development. Jeffrey also leads TDK Electronics MEMS Technology Office which helps coordinate TDK’s MEMS capabilities across multiple worldwide sites. Jeffrey has been with TDK-Tronics since 2015 and is a veteran of the semiconductor industry having previously worked for over a decade on the fabrication of various semiconductor memory technologies.

Jeffrey is an alumni of the University of Maryland with a degree in Electrical Engineering.

BioMEMS Manufacturing Challenges and Considerations

The manufacturing of BioMEMS devices presents a novel set of challenges and considerations that are often unique from the manufacturing of other traditional MEMS devices. Primary challenges can include the incorporation of unique materials and processes not found traditional MEMS devices. Additional challenges include working and communicating with customers who may not be familiar with semiconductor and MEMS manufacturing and have quality needs and expectations that are atypical for the industry. In this presentation we will examine some of the challenges that arise from the manufacturing of MEMS biomedical devices and provide insights and best-known practices for handling those issues.
