BioMEMS Manufacturing Challenges and Considerations
The manufacturing of BioMEMS devices presents a novel set of challenges and considerations that are often unique from the manufacturing of other traditional MEMS devices. Primary challenges can include the incorporation of unique materials and processes not found traditional MEMS devices. Additional challenges include working and communicating with customers who may not be familiar with semiconductor and MEMS manufacturing and have quality needs and expectations that are atypical for the industry. In this presentation we will examine some of the challenges that arise from the manufacturing of MEMS biomedical devices and provide insights and best-known practices for handling those issues.
TDK is a comprehensive global electronic components manufacturer providing the world a large range of electronic, magnetic, and MEMS based components and devices. TDK-Tronics serves as TDK’s custom MEMS foundry, located in the heart of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, partnering with a range of customers to develop and manufacture custom biomedical and industrial MEMS based devices. TDK-Tronic’s full-service MEMS foundry is ISO 9001, 14001, 13485, and 45001 to meet the quality demands of our customers.
